PORTABLE SIGNALS
DC Powered Portable Traffic Signals

OMJC Pop-Up HD

The Heavy Duty portable traffic signal is the ideal solution for more complex intersections with turn lanes, featuring an available 15-25' of over-the-road mast arm length. One AC model (The Knockdown) can quickly replace a damaged permanent pole, or 4 of our stand-lone DC models can provide a complex temporary intersection. The HD also utilizes the Intelligent ATC Controller running Maxtime™ software, powered by a bank of batteries charged by solar, with optional redundant power options available via an auto-start generator. Temporary span wire has truly met it's match!

OMJC Pop-Up JR/ D.A.D. System

Our Pop-Up JR4™ is portable and versatile. When storing or transporting, it has a small footprint which makes it easy to move. When 4 units are deployed it is fully compliant with MUTCD requirements. The Pop-Up JR4™ can be equipped to meet many job requirements, including driveway assistant devices (DAD). Most commonly, the Pop-Up JR devices work in tandem with our portable signal trailers, allowing for assistance with easy driveway control. Often, pedestrian signal heads are mounted on Juniors for the purposes of controlling pedestrian traffic when our HD Pop-Ups are controlling larger intersections. Everything is easily integrated with our easy-to-use radio system.

RAPID X FIRST RESPONDER PTS

The Rapid X First Responder will signalize 4 directions of traffic using either 2 or 4 phase modes of operation. Designed to deploy in under two minutes, the Rapid X is simple to deploy and easy to use. Get your first responders out of harm's way, and start stopping traffic in seconds!

OMJC Portable Hawk System

The world's first truly autonomous portable Hawk System from OMJC Signal can be deployed in minutes. The system is built upon the rapid deploying chassis of our DC powered signal trailers paired with our pedestal mounted portable signals, all engineered to function as a pedestrian crossing system.

The Portable Hawk System is primarily designed for rapid deployment for events where there would not otherwise be a need for a permanent pedestrian crossing system. Another common application is for emergency deployment when existing infrastructure fails or is destroyed.

THE POWER OF A
PERMANENT CONTROLLER
MEETS THE VERSATILITY
OF PORTABLES

Other portable signals on the market utilize their own proprietary controllers originally designed as flagger replacing timers, and installed on every trailer. We do something entirely different, and for good reason. Versatility, reliability, and cost savings.

2070 ATC controllers are used in hundreds of thousands of intersections around the world, and are widely respected as the framework of choice for traffic experts. They are also at the forefront of connected car applications. Can the Intelight 2070 handle basic single lane closures? Absolutely. But that's only the beginning. This is the controller for any situation, and every application. Each job requires only one "master" trailer, meaning that additional trailers are "secondary" trailers (which take their cues from the master). The result is major cost savings, allowing contractors to win more bids, and engineers to reduce the burden of project expenses.

why OMJC
EVER RUN A
YELLOW LIGHT?

There is a reason you feel safe stretching the last couple seconds of that yellow light, it's because you know the opposing traffic wont have a green light at the same time. Have you ever wondered why you can be so confident?

Don't worry, neither have most people. Fortunately, as seasoned traffic experts, we have. Because we believe that portable signals should be every bit as safe and reliable as permanent signals, we use an EDI conflict monitor in all of our portable signal control cabinets. This is the very same kind of monitor thousands of permanent intersections deploy around the world. Can you believe no other portables use this type of monitoring? Neither can we!

In addition to the programmable EDI hardware monitoring, each of our radios also contain software based monitoring, meaning a standard intersection of Pop-Ups has 5 layers of monitoring!

THE RIGHT TOOL
FOR THE RIGHT JOB

We are dedicated to uncompromising safety and reliability standards. We strive to help you understand what options exist to get the job done right.

The most common components for single lane closures are microwave detection and handheld remote signal controls (often referred to as "pilot car remotes").

For intersections, it is more common to utilize video detection coupled with 5-section signal heads to actuate and accommodate protected turn movements. Emergency vehicle pre-emption (EVP) and pedestrian signals are also commonly utilized intersection components.

The best first step to a successful portable signal job, is opening up the conversation.

ONE MINUTE DEPLOYMENT
ONE PERSON
DEPLOYMENT

There is a lot of talk about "one person deployment", but when we say it, we mean it literally.

One person can deploy a Light Duty trailer from its travel position to fully deployed over the road in less than one minute.

The real advantage is that the operator is able to accomplish this with a minimal amount of exposure to the roadway. The handheld, tethered hydraulic lift remote allows the operator to stand up to 10' from the roadway during deployment!

You shouldn't need flaggers to deploy your portable signals. Isn't that the whole point?
