Description
Model 1700 microprocessor is an MC6809 micro-based unit that is digitally timed, fully actuated traffic signal controller, which is available in a two, four or eight-phase version. Designed to meet the requirements of NEMA Standard TS 1-1983, it exceeds NEMA requirements for conventional intersection control systems.
Capable of both independent and interconnected operation, the Model 1700 can be implemented either internally or externally for coordination and communications. The versions can be operated in any configuration from two to eight phases, timing in one or two rings, with up to four phases per ring with single entry phase selection.
The Model 1700 is functionally modular, with separate circuit boards for power, input/output, control and display. Self-diagnostic capabilities are also included. Several expansion options for the Model 1700 are available, most implemented through the simple addition or replacement of PROM memory. This modular construction feature simplifies installation, testing, maintenance and repair. The result is enhanced operating reliability in all environments.
Applications
Due to the flexibility of its 8-bit microprocessor and memory, the Model 1700 can operate in a number of configurations. These include two, four or eight-phase volume density controllers, with preemption and coordination.
